 500 grammes prawns - you decide the the size you prefer  

1 tbsp ground turmeric 

1tsp vegetable  oil  

1 tsp mustard seeds  

1 onion finely sliced  

3 cloves garlic finely chopped  

1 inch cube ginger finely chopped  

1 tsp garam masala  

1 tsp cumin  

2 tsp chilli powder  

1 tsp ground coriander

 2 tomatoes peeled and chopped  

100 ml cream  coriander to garnish

Prawn on Puri

Put the prawns in a plastic bag and add the turmeric  

Seal the bag/box and shake to mix  

Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds  

When they start to pop add the onions and fry for 3-4 minutes  

Add the garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, chilli and coriander  

Stir to mix and cook for another minute  

Add the tomatoes and fry for a further 3-4 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken  

Add the cream and simmer for 8-10 minutes until sauce has reduced by half   Finally add the prawns and heat until the prawns are pink and cooked through. Serve on a puri with coriander leaves and a pinch of chilli powder
